Booking terms.

What a deposit is, when the balance falls due, what a cancellation costs, and what happens when the weather or anything else gets in the way. These are our terms, published in full.

Paying for a private day tour

Sending a booking request charges nothing. Within one business day we reply in writing confirming availability, your guide's language and the total. That written confirmation is the booking, and the figure on it is the figure that binds — not the calculator on the page.

A deposit of 30% of the total confirms your date and lets us hold the guide, the vehicle and any admissions in your name. The balance is due 7 days before your tour date. If you book fewer than 7 days ahead, the full amount is due when you confirm.

We accept PayNow to our business UEN, bank transfer, and card through a secure payment link we send you. We will never ask for card details by email, by WhatsApp or over the phone, and we never ask for payment before you have the written confirmation in front of you.

All prices are in Singapore dollars and include 9% GST.

Paying for a bespoke itinerary or an event

Every bespoke booking begins with a written proposal that states the total and the terms that apply to it. A deposit of 30% confirms it. Where a venue or supplier we are holding for you requires more than that up front, the proposal says so and states the amount before you commit.

The balance is due 30 days before the first day of your programme. For bookings confirmed inside 30 days, the payment schedule is written into the proposal. Payment methods are the same as above.

If you cancel a day tour

Tell us in writing — by email, or by WhatsApp to your planner — and the time we receive it is the time that counts, in Singapore time.

One change of date is free with 7 days' notice or more, subject to availability and to any admission that cannot be moved. Changing dates is usually easier than cancelling, so ask before you cancel.

Refunds go back the way they came, within 14 business days of us confirming the cancellation.

If we cancel

If we cancel a confirmed booking for any reason other than an event beyond anyone’s control (below), you choose: a full refund of everything you have paid, with nothing deducted, or an alternative date at the same price. That is your choice, not ours. Anything we recover from a venue, a restaurant or a supplier after we cancel is passed back to you as well.

What we cannot do is cover what you arranged independently around the booking — flights, hotels, other bookings, time off. That is what travel insurance is for, and it is why we recommend it.

Travel insurance

We strongly recommend travel insurance for every guest, covering at least trip cancellation and curtailment, medical expenses and personal belongings. It is not a condition of booking and we do not ask to see it — but if you cancel for a reason of your own, the terms above are what apply, and insurance is the only thing that gets that money back.

We do not sell, arrange or receive anything from travel insurance. Choose your own insurer.

If your guide cannot come, or the vehicle fails

Every guide on our roster is individually STB-licensed. If yours falls ill, we send another licensed guide working in the language you booked. If no guide in your language is available on your date, you choose a new date or a full refund — we do not quietly substitute a language you did not book.

If the vehicle fails, we arrange a replacement at our cost. If the day cannot go ahead because of it, you choose a new date or a refund of the part of the day you did not receive.

Rain, and the weather that stops a day

Singapore rain is heavy and it is short, and tours run in it. Every itinerary carries an indoor version, written before you arrive, and your guide switches to it as needed — most guests notice only that the car is at a different door. Rain by itself is not a reason for a refund.

Where a thunderstorm, a government advisory or a safety decision by your guide closes something you had booked and no equivalent is available, you choose a new date or a refund of the part you did not receive.

Events beyond anyone's control

If a booking cannot go ahead because of something outside our reasonable control — severe weather, a government restriction or advisory, a public-health measure, road closures for a national event, a security incident, or a supplier's own failure — we will offer you a new date. If you would rather not travel, we refund everything you have paid less any amount already paid to a supplier on your behalf that we cannot recover, itemised in writing.

We are not able to cover flights, hotels or other arrangements you made independently.

Questions about any of this

Ask before you book, not after: send an enquiry and you get a written reply within 24 hours, in your language.

New to how we work? How booking works walks the same sequence through in plain language, with no figures in it.
